Methodology
- 1Verified events onlyEvery index movement traces to a verified record in the intelligence database — a funding round, transaction, approval, contract award or reported result. Nothing is modelled from sentiment.
- 2Weighting and scoringEvents are weighted by disclosed value, counterparty scale and segment relevance. Constituents carry equal weight within their index so no single large company dominates the series.
- 3NormalisationEach index is normalised against a stated base value and base date, so series can be compared across segments and, later, across regional editions.
- 4Publication and revisionValues are published once each trading day after editorial sign-off. Revisions are logged and disclosed rather than applied silently.
- 5Not a benchmarkMedTwenty Indices are proprietary editorial indicators. They are not regulated financial benchmarks and must not be used as benchmarks for any investment or financial instrument.
The same construction rules support regional versions of each index — a MedTwenty UK Healthcare Index today, a MedTwenty US Healthcare Index as coverage widens.
